- Mansfield, Ohio police and school officials have implemented a school safety policy that will provide three police radios to the principals of the high school, middle school, and elementary school. The principals will use the radios to communicate directly with police in the event a critical situation occurs.
- The Minneapolis Public Schools Superintendent has announced a new policy in which all suspensions of students of color for nonviolent behavior will be reviewed by a special leadership team. The policy is part of an effort to eliminate disproportionate suspension rates by 2018.
