- The Colleton County, South Carolina Board of Education voted Tuesday to reinstate full funding to the school district’s crew of student resource officers (SRO’s), which it jointly funds with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office. Budget limitations led to reductions in the school safety program.
- After the passage of passage of Act 70, the Pennsylvania Department of Education is now accepting applications for the 2013-14 school safety grants. $8.5 million in the state budget has been allocated for school safety initiatives by all public and private schools in the state.
